A Cheerful Heart

Isn't it sad to see those people that choose to exist to be downtrodden, angry, and miserable? Our lives should be full of joy! We have Jesus - an eternal life. Verse after verse of scripture remind us to lead joyful and cheerful lives but yet, we allow this difficult and sometimes wicked world we live in to bring us down. Daily, man-made "stuff" is heavy and it seems that most families are struggling with something...all the more reminder to look ahead to the day that we no longer will be laden with these chains. We have a future in Christ that provides us hope for freedom!

Children are a great example of pure joy, cheerful hearts, a true understanding. They wake each day (teens not included) with an excitement and thrilling anticipation for the hours to come. Again and again, it is the little ones that set our example. Let us look at them - look at life...look at Jesus through their eyes. Watch them as they talk to one another with bright smiles and twinkling eyes. See their joy on a playground or in the halls of a school. Hear their laughter as they play simple games. Life is good! We simply need to remember!

Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

Looking for Rainbows

In the midst of a nasty Sunday afternoon of rain and thunderstorms, looking out of a window, I realize the yard is full of birds, squirrels and chipmunks busy as always. As wet and dreary as the day has been, the animals don't seem to mind and carry on. How unlike the animals we are. The rain begins and we run inside. The storms come and we seek shelter. Tonight, our goal was to begin to plant a seed of hope and joy through Jesus in our children. We all know those days will come when all we want is shelter - to hide. Even the little ones experience dreary and challenging times. Look for the joy in the rain. Seek to find the rainbow in the storm...go play in the mud!
